Eight of the senators from the Connecticut have jointly filed up a new gambling bill which aims to legalize the sports betting in the Connecticut.
State senators Dennis Bradley, Mary Daugherty Abrams, Christine Cohen, Bob Duff, Steve Cassano, Julie Kushner, Martin Looney and Norman Needleman have all declared their support for the bill.
However before the bill get’s passed, it needs some further clarification and that is why the bill is sent to the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Security .
Last year 2017, the sports betting was legalized but the state couldn’t find it’s way forward because of the tribal concerns, thus ending in a failed effort.
However, this time a newer bill has been presented and hoped to clear the mess up.
The tribal concerns in the Connecticut needs to be tackle down first before the wagering on the sports events find it’s way to legality.
Right now the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan are the two tribes which are currently holding the exclusive rights to offer casino gambling in the state.
Since these two tribes regulated the casino gambling in the state, a compact between the tribes and the state has yet to be established before the legalization of the sports betting the state of Connecticut
